Through Define Story I work alongside individuals, professionals, and brands to shape how they’re seen — their narrative, their visual presence, and the moments that matter most.

I’m a Rotorua-based photographer, storytelling strategist and licensed marriage celebrant. Across all of this work, the same thread holds - careful attention, uncovering what’s true, and shaping it into something clear, considered, and aligned with where you’re heading.

    I'm a big believer in making important days memorable. In shaping moments so they really resonate. That belief is what led me to become a celebrant, and it is what I bring to every wedding and civil union I officiate.

    I work closely with each couple from the first conversation to the final word. We start by talking about who you are, what you value, and what you want people to feel when they leave. The ceremony that comes from that conversation is built from scratch. Entirely yours.

    I take on a small number of ceremonies each year so I can give each one the time and care it deserves.

All packages available for weddings and civil unions. Travel outside Bay of Plenty available at additional cost. 2026 and 2027 bookings welcome. Note: Wedding and civil union ceremonies are offered through Kaycie O'Connor as a licensed independent marriage celebrant (sole trader, NZBN: 9429051804091), separate from her advisory company (Kaycie O'Connor Limited).

  • For couples who want a genuine, personal ceremony. One consultation, a ceremony crafted around your story, and someone who will hold your day with complete care and attention.

    Includes: Initial consultation, personalised ceremony script, day-of ceremony up to 30 minutes, certificate signing, email support throughout.

     Ideal for: Intimate celebrations and couples who want something genuine without the extras.

  • For couples who want their ceremony to really tell their story. We take more time together, go deeper into what makes you both who you are, and build something your guests will still be talking about.

    Includes: Two to three consultations, fully bespoke ceremony script with your story woven through it, optional practice run-through, day-of ceremony up to 45 minutes, certificate signing.

    Ideal for: Couples who value personalisation and want the ceremony to feel as significant as the day.

  • The complete ceremony experience. From first conversation to final word, everything is held with care and thought. This is for couples who want to arrive on the day fully present, knowing every detail has been thoughtfully prepared.

    Includes: Multiple consultations, fully bespoke ceremony with personalised readings, rituals, and vows, rehearsal ceremony, ceremony booklet designed for guests, travel within Bay of Plenty included, day-of ceremony up to 60 minutes, certificate signing.

     Ideal for: Couples who want the complete experience and the peace of mind that comes with it.
